#Can Unmarried Couples Stay in Oyo Rooms or Hotels in India?

Updated: Dec 9, 2019

Living together or Spending some private time in a hotel together is no more a big deal. So, here I will clear all the doubts unmarried couples have on their mind on booking hotel. Continue reading below......

Yes, unmarried couples can stay in hotels. There is no such rule or law in the country that prohibits unmarried couples from staying together or checking-into a hotel. If you have a valid identity proof you are good to go.

The law has nothing to do with it unless the partner is paid for pleasure, which again is totally different thing and nothing to do couples who want to spend time together in their privacy.

Just follow some basic guidelines as mentioned below:

  • Both the partner must above 18 years of age

  • Carry valid identity/address proof of both partners

  • Don’t create any ruckus

  • Try not to check-in in intoxicated state

  • Try booking a room at a preferably mid and semi-premium range, as very low price tags may not offer you the desired services

  • Please check the terms of the hotel before booking it

Does police has the right to question you on spending time together?

No, police or any law dept. does not have the right to interfere between your privacy or question you on your stay together, as there is no law prohibiting unmarried couples from staying together. Choosing to stay together is a personal choice and falls under freedom of movement, which cannot be restricted.

Popular hotels for unmarried couples:

  • Oyo Rooms

  • Stay Uncle

  • BreviStay

  • Mistay

  • Bag2Bag

So, go ahead and Chill! Create some unforgettable private moments with your partner and don’t get bothered by moral policing. If you both think it is ok than there is nothing to be guilty or you should not be answerable to anyone.
